Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara was born on February 28 1948) is an American performer, actress and author of children's books. Through a long career that spans over six decades she's appeared in musical theatre, television and film, performed solo concerts and released recordings. She is a critically acclaimed Broadway performerwho has received seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, which she won three. Four of the Broadway cast albums on which she's performed have received Grammy Awards.
Many consider Peters as the top Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is well-known for performances on Broadway including Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
